Job Description

The role holder leads the Global Product Management SDIS team responsible for implants, instruments, stock and customized prosthetics. With your Team of about 25 highly talented global product managers, you will take ownership of pushing commercialization and managing the entire life cycle of the industry-leading Straumann core product portfolio with a revenue of 1B. Additionally, together with a powerful R&D organization, you will be building and executing the global product portfolio strategy for SDIS.  Jointly with R&D, you will identify user needs, formulate innovative product concepts, and bring new product portfolios to market readiness. You and your team will be responsible for the global marketing mix, digital launch campaigns and finally successful market introduction of new products. Importantly, you will put a strong emphasis on Solution Selling for global initiatives like Edentulous, Immediacy and Smile-in-a-Box.
 

  • Create the vision and articulate the global product lifecycle strategy for the SDIS portfolio, including activities like revitalization, portfolio improvements, geographic expansion, or streamlining the existing portfolio
  • Establish and implement digital marketing & sales campaigns to drive the SDIS portfolio in close cooperation with sales excellence and the regional / local marketing & sales organizations
  • Together with R&D and aligned with the company’s strategic vision, develop a compelling product innovation pipeline by identifying “customer problems worth solving”  
  • Guide your teams through the global launch preparation and initial commercialization phase for new product introductions
  • Be a sparring partner for creating a compelling value proposition, for defining value-based pricing, for forming the Marketing & Sales Plan and finally spark creativity for marketing material, which speaks to our customers
  • Act as ‘gate keeper’ for assigned KOLs and manage relationships. Identify young clinical talents and Raising Stars to include them in key projects
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of ca. 25 high performing product managers across four teams:
    • Global PM CADCAM Prosthetics Group
    • Global Product Management Prosthetics
    • Global Product Management Surgical
    • Global Product Management System Projects
    • Create an international PM Organization which offers attractive development opportunities for highly skilled marketing professionals.
  • Ensure excellent collaboration with leaders of the R&D and Innovation Powerhouse to maximize the impact of development resources, prioritize and manage projects
  • Ensure a strong collaboration with Regional Teams and different HQ functions to secure a smooth, efficient, and successful commercialization of the different products and solutions in the markets
  • Be role model for customer centricity and customer empathy

Qualifications

  • Academic background with degree in life science, engineering or commercial studies
  • 10 years’ experience in product management or related function, owning a large product portfolio while increasing revenue, profitability and expanding in geographic markets preferably in medical device industry
  •  >5 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in working in a global matrix organization and manufacturing business, with a profound understanding of international sales and regulatory environment of international medical device market
  • Fluent in English, any other languages an asset
  • You are a great mentor and coach, and you provide clear guidance. You allow your team and others outside your organization to make mistakes and support them as they learn and adjust.

Additional Information
