With over 20,000 members, SSMU’s role is to represent undergraduate students and to offer them services since 1908.

Job Description

Justices are responsible for hearing cases on the interpretation of the SSMU, Constitution and Bylaws, motions passed by Council, issues of referenda and elections, and the Constitutionality of actions of the Society generally.

 

The Judicial Board meets on an ad hoc basis when called, and liaises with the Student Advocacy office. The Judicial Board is a volunteer position.

Qualifications

  • Must be an undergraduate member of the Society;
  • Knowledge of the SSMU, the SSMU Constitution and by-laws;
  • Impartiality;
  • Good communication skills both in English and French;
  • Teamwork;
  • May not be or have been a member of the SSMU Council;
  • Availability to be on call.
