With over 20,000 members, SSMU’s role is to represent undergraduate students and to offer them services since 1908.

The primary responsibility of the Activities Night Coordinator is the facilitation of events within the Clubs and Services portfolio, including Fall Activities Night, Winter Activities Night, and smaller events throughout the year as determined by the Vice-President (Clubs and Services).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. In collaboration with the Vice-President (Student Life), facilitate the planning and execution of Activities Night;                                                                                       

2. Coordinate table registration and payment for internal and external groups;

3. Promote and advertise the event and maintain an active online presence in advance of portfolio events;

4. Manage the volunteer coordination process during Activities Night and facilitate the management and distribution of tasks during the events;

5. Make recommendations to the Vice-President (Student Life) on the implementation of new initiatives and organizational strategies for Activities Night;

6. Respond to questions and concerns from student groups and actively consult event attendees prior to the event with the goal of generating a feedback report;

7. Facilitate the development and implementation of other events in the Student Life portfolio as needed.

1. Experience with event planning and volunteer coordinator an asset.

2. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

3. Experience working with event management software (e.g. Eventbrite) an asset.

4. Reliability, integrity, strong planning skills, high degree of organization skills, strong analytical skills.

5. Good communication skills both in English and French desirable.
