Job Description

Working with the Systems Administrator,  the IT Assistant will be maintaining Windows workstations, upgrading hardware and software. The incumbant will provide courteous service and support to SSMU staff, clubs, and services with respect to their workstations and various technical problems they may be experiencing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with the SSMU Systems Administrator on the maintenance of Windows 7 workstations and installed software.
  2. Assess where hardware upgrades would be necessary and perform upgrades as requested.
  3. Compatibility testing of various browsers and java versions with SSMU internal CMS.
  4. Other IT support related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 7.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory an asset.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with upgrading hardware such as RAM, CPU, and disk drives.
  • Knowledge of Mac and Linux systems an asset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous client services experience an asset.
