Job Description

The MiniCourses Customer Service and Marketing Coordinator (CSM Coordinator) is the primary customer service representative for MiniCourses and is responsible for the marketing, promotion, and customer satisfaction of MiniCourses. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Advertise MiniCoures using social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Listservs).

2) Manage the MiniCourses Facebook Page, including posting regularly and responding to messages and comments.

3) Design, print, and distribute tangible promotional materials (e.g. handouts, posters).

4) Act as the primary point of contact for MiniCourses customers, by responding to email inquiries and complaints within 1 business day.

5) Escalate complaints and inquires when necessary, and ensure that a satisfactory response is received by each customer.  

6) Advertise MiniCourses and register students in person at various campus locations and McGill events.

7) Hold open office hours for customers to come with inquiries, questions, and complaints. 


 WORKING CONDITIONS:

1) High pressure work environment - the CSM Coordinator receives approximately 50 emails per week during peak periods, many of which are time-sensitive inquiries or complaints.

2) Recurring exposure to students’ complaints and requests – MiniCourses customers often have high expectations of customer service, expecting immediate responses to inquiries and requests.


Qualifications

1) Experience in advertising.

2) Strong customer service skills required to respond to complaints and high pressure work environment.

3) Reliability, integrity, high degree of organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills.

4) Good communication skills in English required, French an asset.

5) Availability during the summer is an asset.

Additional Information

  • Paid position: $12.67 per hour
  • Hours: On average 10 hours per week
  • Contract: May 1st, 2016 - April 30th, 2017 (May 1st through August 31st availability being an asset)
