The Web Developer is responsible for designing, developing and executing interactive and other web-based projects and Internet strategies for brand image creation and maintenance, product marketing, promotions, information transfer, and technology support. As part of the Sullivan Branding Digital Team, the Web Developer is a cross-functional role that requires the ideal candidate to be highly adept at multi-tasking, re-prioritizing projects, meeting deadlines, and successfully interfacing with non-technical team members from other departments. This role is responsible for website development, browser-based software development, custom content-management solutions, web and email hosting, database management, mobile website and app development, email list management, and custom video integration and hosting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Consults with internal teams to define technical requirements and capabilities, produces technical requirement documents, establishes user-workflows and provides project schedules to ensure successful and timely delivery of new digital projects.

• Teams with a designer to develop interactive site architecture for new web projects.

• Develops programming code for assigned web projects based on creative and marketing strategies stated in approved proposals. 

• Implements online initiatives by employing all phases of development (design, build, test and maintain).

• Reviews and tests all digital deliverables with keen attention to detail and quality assures that projects are completed according to schedule and within budget.

• Maintains, troubleshoots and/or enhances both by programming code for new information and updating existing programming code for all aspects of Sullivan Branding clients owned digital assets including websites, content management systems, e-mail distribution providers, ad servers, video hosting providers, web analytics, etc.

• Integrates, manages and supports relationships with 3rd party application providers.

• Responsible for coding, unit-testing and maintaining digital projects based on system specifications as needed by various clients. 

• Ownership of the technical processes, trouble-shooting production issues and fixing as needed, maintaining and improving deployed code as needed.

• Ensures highest quality coding standards, policies and IT procedures are observed as well as participates in the evaluation and selection of new strategies and technologies.

• Informs Manager if a server problem occurs on any agency managed or maintained interactive properties; assists in helping to resolve all such problems.

• Stays current on all programming-related technology trends and innovations, and communicates regularly with Digital team regarding training needs, or hardware and software upgrades to keep the agency on the leading edge of interactive design.

• Actively monitors project risks and scope to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address them in advance.

• Expert in server side and client side languages .NET/PHP/Node .JS/HTML/ XHTML/HTML5/CSS/ CSS3/Javascript. 

• Working knowledge of object-oriented and server-side scripting languages.

• Experience using PHP frameworks.

• Experience in managing large- and small-scale server configurations. 

• Previous experience with template-based content management systems preferred. 

• Experience in mobile/responsive design.

• Knowledge of mobile-first web development and web/native app development for iPhone and Android. 

• Knowledge of audio and video encoding. 

• Strong Microsoft Office skills. 

Skills & Requirements 

• 5+ years of professional experience with web development. 

• Sitecore web development experience a plus.

• Detail orientation, inventiveness, ingenuity, communicability, responsiveness, and deadline driven.

• Must work well in a collaborative, team environment.
