Job Summary:
The Fabrication Department at Super Color Digital, in Irvine, CA, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder/Fabricator (2:30pm-10:00pm). This is a full time position that is available immediately. Qualified candidates should have 3 years+ of welding experience (MIG and TIG) but most importantly is comfortable welding light gage aluminum. This person needs to be proficient in reading and understanding build drawings, can work well with a team and can handle multiple aspects of metal fabrication (cutting, bending, mill work, finishing and assembly). Employees are responsible for analyzing assembly drawings, measuring materials and cutting/welding them to appropriate size and shape. The merchandize that is created in this area must have perfect dimensions and must be crafted without blemish. Any questions regarding the assembly of materials are to be communicated to the CAD draftsperson/Fabrication Manager.
Job Duties:

  • Cutting, prepping, and welding of anodized and raw aluminum material.
  • Coordinate and stage all material planned for production in advance so the materials are where they need to be when they need to be there to avoid any downtime on the production lines
  • Must be proficient in using miter/chop saw, lathe, drill-press, mill and grinders to shape and manipulate various fabricated structures.
  • Tube bending experience is recommended.
  • Have a clear understanding of production work flow’s interrelationship the custom fabrication department has with other departments
  • Metal shop organization and housekeeping
  • Collaborates with cross-functional departments
  • Check that all information regarding Work Order/Auto Cad rendering is correct before accepting job, making sure that employee perform duties perfectly and check that all information is correct regarding Work Order/fabricated merchandise before giving the job to the next stage of production.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years experience in fabrication
  • 3+ years experience with TIG/MIG welding within fabrication environment
  • Basic experience with equipment including table saw, chop saw and drill press.
  • Must know how to read blue print.
  • Electrical and soldering knowledge is recommended
  • Open and available to work overtime including weekends
  • Can supply HR with a portfolio of past work/build experience
  • Pass Super Color Digital basic weld test
  • Must know anodized aluminum extrusions
