We are looking for an individual with a high level of integrity and professionalism to join our Risk Management Team.

As Risk Officer, you will report to the Chief Risk Officer and ensure that the risk control framework of the Bank continuously evolves in line with the growth of the Bank’s activities. You will assist in delivering robust second line of defence controls and support various risk related projects.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Perform regular credit reviews for financial counterparties, critical service providers and securities lending borrowers,
  • Perform timely and good quality oversight controls on Group delegated activities in relation to our credit lending activity,
  • Act as a backup for Lombard loan monitoring,
  • Produce various risk calculations and ensure data quality (such as ECL, IRRBB, liquidity stress tests),
  • Liaise with local IT development team to improve calculation automation where possible,
  • Liaise with external consultants to adapt risk calculations files where required,
  • Participate in the completion of the monthly Key Risk Indicators Dashboard and other regular risk trackers from risk owners and be accountable for the departmental KRI,
  • Maintain documentation on the risk awareness programme of the Bank,
  • Perform, with other Risk Officers, timely and quality input of risk events in the operational risk management database. Assess, propose and follow up on agreed remediation actions and provide MI,
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory and internal risk reports as and when required,
  • Execute special projects aiming at maintaining and supporting the improvement of the Bank’s Risk Management framework.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Fluency in English - Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal),
  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Risk Management,
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in accountancy, internal/external audit for banking/financial services businesses. Experience in risk management is an asset,
  • High degree of initiative and excellent planning and organisational skill,
  • Problem solving approach and an ability to connect different elements together,
  • Genuine interests in financial markets, cryptocurrency industry and products, macro- and political economics and regulations,
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg’s banking, legal and regulatory environment is considered an advantage.
