Job Description

Who You Are:

Synergy Comp is rapidly growing and has an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to drive its business and growth objectives for the Southeast territory (Virginia and North Carolina). As a Production Underwriter, this position focuses on developing strong agency relationships, evaluating risks, and growing premiums, while communicating Synergy Comp's unique value proposition.  

What You'll Do:

  • Achieves company growth objective by recognizing sales opportunities, soliciting desirable business, and diligent follow-up on quoted business.
  • Management of Virginia and North Carolina sales territories.
  • Selects new business and evaluates renewal accounts in accordance with company underwriting philosophy, as well as written/verbal procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitoring financial performance and willingness to take action to assure achievement of results.
  • Demonstrates a professional, courteous attitude with agents. Responds quickly and ethically to all requests/issues. Delivers on promises and promises only what can be delivered.
  • Regularly travels to agencies providing field underwriting and quoting services.
  • Develops strong agency relationships translating into qualified submissions and regular new business flow.
  • Resolves policy audit issues.
  • Determines the appropriate course of action for policy changes.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • Three or more years of sales working for a carrier focused in Workers Compensation Insurance 
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining a solid book of business
  • A strong and broad network of agents, established relationships
  • Proven analytical abilities
  • College degree required: CPCU and/or CIC desirable
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with Salesforce a plus
