Site HSE Coordinator (f/m/d)

Role purpose:

The HSE Coordinator is responsible in bringing operational HSE expertise in all site activities. The HSE Coordinator is the primary contact for employees and supervisors concerning safety-related matters and he ensures the application of the Health, Safety and Environmental standards in daily tasks. The HSE Coordinator provides HSE support and guidance for all functions throughout all activities in and out site. (R&D station, SPR activities, Laboratory, Maintenance, P&S activities, Seeds development activities and field activities)

Responsibilities/main tasks:

• Perform daily HSE visits: Identifies potential and actual areas of improvement and assists in setting and formulating goals and tools for their achievement (including behaviors)
• Carries out or facilitates safety audits and inspections as per audit plan
• Perform internal inspections to measure the level of safety culture and the efficiency of local key processes: PTW, safety equipment, PPE management, MOC, …
• Liaises with shift leaders and educates the employees on HSE news & updates
• Provides input to the collection of shared learnings
• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: assists teams in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and identifying relevant controls to manage and reduce these risks. Carries out and follows up on Workplace risk assessment.
• Fosters a safe culture by being informed, mindful, learning, fair and respectful. Promotes and coaches the workforce in Behavioral Based Safety
• Provides HSE input to HSE Management System Reviews
• Training & Coaching
• Contractor Management: contractor HSE training and audit

Knowledge and experience expected:

• Diploma in HSE Management system or equivalent (ie NEBOSH/IOSH)
• 1-2 years in HSE role in industry or agricultural operations
• Knowledge in local & international HSE laws and regulations
• Trainer experience
• Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to take a pragmatic approach to maintaining and improving HSE standards in the workplace.
• Ability to create trust and unite people around safety
