To support this mission, Syngenta’s Treasury & Risk Management team is seeking a Credit & Collections Lead - Mexico North in Mexico City, México. This role will drive financial performance and mitigate risk by strategically managing credit portfolios, optimizing working capital through effective collections, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Partner cross-functionally to resolve operational challenges, support business enablement, and lead process improvements that strengthen the credit and collection function.
Accountabilities
- Manage Credit Risk & Strategy: Apply TFCM Policy guidelines. Make autonomous credit decisions for Basic customers while supporting risk management strategies for Standard and Extensive portfolios.
- Own Credit Renewal Cycle: Drive the yearly credit limit renewal process from initiation through approval, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Monitor & Report Performance: Deliver monthly reports on credit and collection KPIs including DSO, collection rates, overdue AR, and cash flow generation with actionable insights.
- Resolve Operational Issues: Work with AFO and Sales to address open items: unapplied cash, account clearances, credit notes, cash discounts, and interest charges.
- Maintain Controls & Support Audits: Execute internal control procedures and assist with audit processes to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Work in close collaboration with CU Credit Manager to propose appropriate customer risk levels through Credit Limit / Credit Facility definition.
- Provide support to other stakeholder areas (such as Financial Solutions, Treasury, Compliance, Internal and External Audit, Customer Services, IT Support, Human Resources, Customers) to ensure crucial information and collaboration is delivered in matters related to Credit and Collection processes.
- Provide support and drive technical implementation of projects and new technology adoption in systems and processes from the Collection and Credit Function. Work in close coordination with IT teams, system development and AFO for implementation or enhancements in our systems.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's education level in Administration, Economics or Accounting.-
- 3 to 5 years experience in similar roles, preferably in agricultural industry.
- Excel and Data Analysis proficiency.
- Upper-intermediate English level.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams to deliver results.
- Strong communication skills and be seen as a collaborative team member and a team builder.
- Strong experience in business and customer facing relations managing multiple stakeholders and diverse heirarchical levels.
- Good knowledge of SAP Finance Module.
