Synthesis is seeking a Business Inelligence Developer for one of our customers in Fairfax, VA.

This position is open due to the increase in business demands to support Business Intelligence Solutions across their Enterprise. The ideal candidate will enhance their Tableau Community and take Tableau to the next level for their BI Team. 

Responsibilities:

Design and Develop Dashboards using Tableau for various organizational metrics and indicators, creating new reports and modifying existing reports using industry standards and best practices

Works closely with the business users on identifying the best way to present the data

Maintain Tableau reports & analysis and work on enhancements to existing reports or create new reports based on business needs

Develop data mapping, designs, and implement ETL processes by connecting to On-Premise and Cloud applications (Salesforce.com, Amazon Redshift, SAP and Oracle) while following development standards and best practices

Supports team and end-users as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) through troubleshooting, recommendation solutions and identifying opportunities to solve business problems through BI

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  
• At least 3 - 5 years of Business Intelligence and Reporting experience
• Ideally 2-3 years’ experience with Tableau – strong knowledge of best practices for dashboards and visualizations is required
• Strong SQL development skills - writing complex queries and stored procedures - SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL is a must
• Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with large data sets and ability to transform data into actionable insights
• Experience using Informatica (or other ETL tools) to extract, transform and load (ETL) development from various business data repositories - SAP, Salesforce.com, and Oracle
• Experience in documenting design specifications and other related documents
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and Agile development lifecycle
• Experience working with Amazon Redshift using Informatica and Tableau is a plus
• Tableau Community contribution and Server Administration experience is a plus
