Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst is part of the Enterprise Administration Systems (EAS) team that is responsible for the mission critical Administrative Systems and works with all key stakeholders to ensure these systems are aligned with business needs.  This position is also responsible for working with business, technical and vendors to provide support and ensure system implementations, upgrades, enhancements and changes are well defined and appropriately implemented.The applications that are supported by the EAS team include Peoplesoft ERP which includes Financials, HCM and Payroll modules and an ImageNow solution that provides process and content management.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Process & Documentation
    • Participates in the EAS working group as a representative of the IS teams.
    • Participates in the planning and execution of projects that impact business applications and their stakeholders.
    • Translates business needs and requirements into coherent functional and technical specifications.
    • Prepares, maintains and distributes technical and business user documentation.
    • Participates in the definition and improvement of application support processes and procedures.
    • Seeks opportunities to automate or streamline EAS application processes where appropriate.
    • Produces administrative reports.
    • Manage small projects that do not fall within the Projects Team.
    • Trouble Shooting and Maintenance
      • Troubleshoots, analyzes, prioritizes and helps coordinate the resolution of problems and issues with EAS applications.
      • Provides Tier 2 support for business applications and liaises with other IS teams and vendors on incidents or service requests.
      • Coordinates and participates in the implementation of changes, enhancements and upgrades to EAS applications.
      • Liaises with and coordinates the activities of EAS application vendors and internal and external service providers.
      • Participates in and coordinates all types of testing and quality assurance activities related to EAS applications.
      • Configures and manages EAS applications according to business and technical requirements.
      • Other Duties and Responsibilities
        • Assists others in the performance of their duties as required.
        • Adheres to the established processes and procedures within the IS Department.
        • Establishes and maintains close working relationships with vendors and service providers.
        • Prepares and delivers informative, well-organized presentations and communications.
        • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 Work Experience

  • Two or more years’ experience in PeopleSoft Financials, HCM and Payroll environment or similar experience with another ERP solution
  • Two or more years’ experience in project management or business analysis role
  • Experience managing external vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

 

Education

  • Post-secondary graduate with a degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Ability to participate in on-call after hours support rotation is required
  • Evening and occasional weekend work will be required

Must have own transportation and a valid BC driver’s license
