My client, a large manufacturer in the Chicago are, is looking to add an experienced Sr. Business Process Manager to their team. The Sr. Business Process Consultant-CO supports the maintenance of the existing SAP Controlling (SAP CO) solutions for the K+S Group companies. The Sr. Business Process Consultant-CO provides the day-to-day configuration and process support for Controlling solutions that are deployed to the Production Environment. This position will work closely with other IT Business Process Consultants and user departments to understand and document business requirements. The business requirements must be translated into technical requirements that can be used as a guide to develop SAP CO solutions. The Sr. Business Process Consultant-CO is also responsible for implementing the solutions in the global SAP system.





Job Description

As the Sr. Business Process Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

A) Member of K+S IT Application Management Team

  • Responsible for Staff and FTE Planning
  • Responsible for cost planning
  • Participation in overall steering committees in the K+S Group
  • Basic responsibility for compliance with K+S IT quality management processes according to ITIL
  • Ensure IT Innovation in field of responsibility


B) Business Relation Management K+S Group

  • Capturing of trends and requirements of the business departments and coordination with internal IT departments
  • Responsibility for the implementation of the K+S IT Strategy
  • Early identification of escalation scenarios and initiation of according counter measures
  • Fostering user satisfaction through information and consulting
  • Raising awareness for the K+S business department interests within the IT Organization
  • Prioritize issues, improvements, and projects

C) Personnel Management

  • Disciplinary and functional responsibility for personnel of this department
  • Recruitment and hire of open positions
  • Personnel development through initiation of according development measures
  • Responsibility for internal Performance Management (goal setting, feedback conversations, reviews, assessments, etc.)

 D) Resource Allocation and Coordination

  • Responsibility for resource allocation for owned (sub) projects and work packages.
  • Responsible for overall resource allocation for the department (admin, maintenance and projects)
  • Sourcing of external resources in order to compensate internal resource constraints and/or allocation of special IT know how. 
  • Responsible for sourcing resources from other departments as needed out of Application, Technology and Infrastructure teams) 

E) Project Coordination and Steering

  • Presentation, and request of project ideas and requests
  • Appointing project and sub project manager
  • Overall steering and coordination of own projects (project management executed by according project manager)
  • Ensure compliance with K+S IT project management guidelines in according IT projects
  • Monitoring of department performance in view of project quality and target achievements
  • Regular status reporting of own projects
  • Maintain current application portfolio


F) Project Execution

  • Ensure that proper Software Development Lifecycle Management is performed
  • Ensure that proper segregation of duties is enforced between development, test, and production environments
  • Direct resources in testing of solutions
  • Manage user acceptance testing of applications prior to promoting changes into the production environment, while providing documentation of testing and appropriate signoff

 G) Ensure Smooth Operation

  • Basic responsibility to ensure smooth operation of own IT applications in view of global service requirements of the K+S Group (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Documentation)
  • Escalation of service disruptions within the IT organization
  • Proactive maintenance of IT applications through regular release upgrades and according measure



Qualifications

Required 

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related, preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

• Strong problem solving, trouble shooting and analytical skills

• Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities in a professional manner, good planning and organizing skills

• Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts and ideas to IT development teams

• Ability to interact with business users and trading partners

• Working in distributed team environments, self-motivated, and self-directed

• Experience in leading small and large projects with many team members within IT and the business.  

• Experience in SAP ECC 6.0 CO functionality, 5 years & 3 full life cycle implementations desired

• Previous experience with highly complex projects/programs 

• Experience with SAP Controlling related Master Data

• Experience with settlement processes and financial reporting

• Experience with Cost Center Accounting, Contribution Margin Accounting, Product Cost Calculation & Internal Orders

• Experience with end-user support for SAP CO, providing a high level of customer satisfaction

• Basic understanding of Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, & Bank

• Demonstrated experience with large Enterprise ERP implementations in the areas of technical design specification, development, and knowledge transfer.

• Basic understanding of SAP ECC 6.0 and any of the core modules (FI, SD, HR, MM, LE, PP, PM) and manufacturing and consumer products business processes

• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook

• Travel, domestic and international, up to 40%


Advantageous:

• Experience with Profit Center Accounting

• Experience with Accounts Payable, especially payment management

• Experience with General Ledger 

• Experience with Accounts Receivable, especially cash application

• Experience with Bank Accounting, especially lockbox and electronic bank statement

• Experience in ABAP, ABAP OOPS, Smart Forms, and SAP Scripts

• Experience working on the business side in Accounting or Controlling.  

• Basic understanding of SAP BW system and query design

• Good understanding of many business processes including, but not limited to finance & controlling

• German language skills
