The position will report to the Technology Build Organization, the main program delivery team our clients technology buiuld team. The team is charged with delivering technology solutions from “wing to wing” using standard platforms, processes, environments, and tools. Job Description

The Private Cloud Manager is responsible for full stack Engineering and Operations of Private Cloud Hosting services.  This service provides Service Delivery, Automation, Virtualization and Service Management to our business services applications.  These applications include our 1700 OS residing on our vBlock infrastructure as well as running the infrastrucutre migration Responsibilities include design, implementation and operations of servers and working with storage, network and data center teams to meet both short and long-range business objectives.

 

Job Purpose

Ensuring that our Dedicated Hosting Services are proactively implemented to address and resolve business needs. Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of x86, Unix and Linux operating systems with an overall design, implementation and project management focus on infrastructure projects that align with the technology roadmaps.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Manage a team of Service Delivery engineers responsible for Server technology roadmaps, as well as server build of both physical and virtual servers across our Windows, Unix and Lamp service catalog.  This team is responsible for a large majority of our labor liquidations in excess of 1MM.
  • Manage a team of Automation Engineers responsible for the design and rollout of our HP OO and SA automation toolset.  This team is responsible for engineering design, implementation and continued operation excellence of this toolset.
  • Build and direct a team of engineers that will own our virtualization strategy as it relates to our dedicated hosting environment.
  • Manage all aspect of our operational portfolio as it relates to our ongoing and future operational maturity process.  This process is continually evolving in an effort to address all aspects of incident management and operational excellence.
  • Design and deploy necessary controls to insure all infrastructure components meet service levels agreements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Operating System technologies and current strategic directions. 

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or other technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading complex project builds with proven performance to achieve on-time completion of projects.
  • Demonstrated the ability to lead teams of engineers in the successful design, planning and implementation of physical and virtual server architectures, including trouble-shooting and capacity management. 
  • Must have expertise in x86, oracle and Lamp systems with knowledge of vendor strategies.
  • Expertise working on a team with motivated cross functional individuals focused on a common goal of delivering cutting edge solutions to meet aggressive business demands in an ever changing environment to achieve on-time and on budget completion of projects.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.
  • Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.
  • Available 24/7/365.
