Job Description

Tax Notes International seeks an experienced tax professional to research and write in-depth, technical features and articles. Has experience and knowledge in a wide range of tax topics. Writes, in consultation with the editor, analysis on topics of current interest to attract public attention and discussion.

Duties and responsibilities:

1.Works to research and write analytical, interpretive, technical articles and analysis on complex tax issues. 

2.Responds to internal and external queries related to articles. Often communicates with members of the press, tax community, and government officials.

3.Attends, reports on, and participates in conferences, roundtable discussions etc.

4.Analyzes information about newsworthy events or actions for publication, by interview, investigation, and observation.

5.Works with less experienced employees to provide direction, feedback, guidance, and expertise.

6.Adheres to established publication deadlines.

7.If appropriate, manages legal editors and reporters, assisting with scheduling, story development, and topic assignment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University or post-secondary graduate degree in tax, economics, law, or other related field is strongly preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience as a tax professional, writing and analyzing complex tax topics, or other equivalent experience
  • International tax experience preferred
