We are searching for an experienced Senior BI Data Engineer capable of applying their breadth of knowledge, technical skills and strategic thinking while interfacing across marketing, product development and multiple business intelligence teams to solve key strategic business initiatives.

The person we seek will work in a highly collaborative team environment to build custom data pipelines and business intelligence / analytic system solutions using open source, homegrown and proprietary software across massively paralleled processing (MPP) systems on a variety of platforms including Netezza, Hadoop and Tableau to solve data challenges.

Our preferred data engineer will build tools and processes to handle ETL, performance, scale, availability, usability, accuracy and monitoring in their quest to solve complex problems, while utilizing knowledge in architecture, data management, standards, policies, patterns and frameworks. .

The data expert we seek will influence strategy and roadmaps for building scalable data solutions and warehousing, and build upon their own expertise as a subject matter expert.   

This person will ultimately own data quality across multiple business areas in their quest to provide direction and understanding of business and stakeholder needs.

Our ideal data engineer will have 5-8 years experience under their belt working with multi-terabyte data sets using relational databases (RDBMS), preferably SQL and No-SQL. This person’s background will show that he or she has transitioned from application (or other) development through to creating advanced BI systems using a variety of different databases experience, and has a thorough understanding of data analysis for analytic systems.

5-8 years experience developing large-scale analytical databases, platforms, data warehouses and performing ETL across multiple operating systems (Microsoft and Linux)

Our perfect candidate has 5-8 years experience working in large-scale production software development using multiple languages, with preference for using Java / C#, designing large-scale analytical databases on multiple platforms across multiple operating systems (Microsoft and Linux).  

Our data expert will have a career loaded with years of understanding of workload automation, scalability, concurrency, integrity, performance, consistency, and distributed data type validity as well as the fundamental system families and techniques of data modeling and schema design for data warehouses.

Extra consideration given to someone with knowledge of a MPP system / Big Data environment with Hadoop internals, Hive, Java, and Map / Reduce for Business Intelligence, years mastering agile and scrum methodologies and familiarity with IBM Pure Data Systems for Analytics PDA  / Netezza or Open Platform / BigInsights and you’ll be our top Recruit.
