PIR: Premier Information Retrieval® will be a resultant product from the platform, IISS™ (Informational Interpretation Scientific Software). PIR will be designed as software for allergen detection, distinction, classification and analysis. The software will be introduced to global consumer markets in varying versions for smartphone, tablet, wearable and "smart" home applications as well as for commercial and medical markets respectively.

Job Description

Hexagon Lavish (HL™) is seeking a Chief Technology Officer with at least fifteen years of experience in technological leadership. The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for IT infrastructure, application/software development, database administration, technology vendor management and technological projects. The selected candidate should have hands-on experience with the capability to manage the entire technology platform.


The Chief Technology Officer will bring experience in the strategic use of IT for competitive advantage and cost reduction, managing vendor relationships, understanding of network, systems and telephone infrastructure, and solid business and IT analysis skills to the start-up. The selected candidate will possess the ability to work with all levels of the organization, create and maintain productive relationships with outsourced vendors and handle multiple projects as well meet deadline prospects. The selected candidate must also have demonstrable experience in management and leadership capabilities as well as excellent writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in technology, project management or operations management


  • Strong proficiency in IT standard, policy setting and IT compliance


  • Ability to balance multiple projects, work streams and stakeholders and deliver results


  • Project management skills and/or project management certification essential


  • Partnering with business leadership to identify ways to leverage technology to create competitive advantage and improved operational efficiencies


  • Management of IT and application vendors


  • Management of all data management, business analytics and business intelligence systems


  • Procurement of IT equipment, services and negotiating contracts

Additional Information

Essential Job Functions

  • BA/BS degree in technology, project management or operations management in addition to 15 years of industrial experience is required


  • 10+ years experience in hands-on development and application design in the delivery of software products


  • 5+ years in an architect position in previous large scale software development projects


  • Must have demonstrable proficiency with several of the following technologies: Perl, Python, Java, Matlab, R, C, C++, Unix


  • Comfortable in a communications architecture to all levels of management and customers


  • Exceptional knowledge of software development methodologies and processes


  • Possess a track record that includes the design and release of high-quality, high-performance enterprise software products/applications


  • Application of modeling and software expertise for analysis of big data on complex R&D efforts


  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills


  • Preparation of briefing materials and technical reports


  • Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills


  • Possess skills in the following technological areas: J2EE, Web Services, XML, SOAP, XSL, HTML/DHTML and HTTP; as well as relational database design and OLAP

  • Summarize and communicate the intellectual content of technological information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences


  • Interact with stakeholders from multiple disciplines including engineering, biology, neuroscience, clinical, regulatory and policy teams


  • Demonstrable mastery of high-performance computing of the low-level, high-performance development skills needed to perform research on distributed, highly scalable architectures conducive to the evolving nature of PIR


  • Play a major role in company-wide data governance and data best practices, including data quality controls and usage of critical components of major systems; direct and advise users on data best practices


  • Develop and deliver management reports on IT performance, costs, and compliance


  • Actively engage in day-to-day oversight of IT infrastructure, telephone, and outsourced vendor relationships


  • Ensure IT services are delivered to the company and users in accordance with contract service level agreements


  • Manage and implement company-wide integration including enterprise, application, and database platforms


  • Ensure an effective system for reporting problems and ensuring adequate resolution in line with vendor contract obligations is functioning properly


  • Create annual IT procurement and budget plans, work to negotiate best deals and pricing on infrastructure components and software as required


  • Cultivate and maintain industry relationships and grow existing stakeholder relationships as related to technology


  • Develop technology staff, hire new positions as required
