Job Description

We are looking for several Enterprise Architects to join our clients team to assist with  influencing, co-creating and governing the enterprise architecture for our clients organization and ensure its alignment with regional and global enterprise direction.
This is a one year consulting assignment with a strong possiblity of extension. Location is in South Bay, Los Angeles.
The Short Term Goals (which should be reached during the first 6 months) for these positions are the following:
  • Define architecture strategy, align it with enterprise priorities
  • Define, create, and maintain architecture & technology road-mapping framework
  • Define and document reference architectures and solution architectures for the following areas:
    • Mobile
    • Portal
    • BPM
  • Document architecture constraints
    • Our client needs to document architecture constraints so vendors have a clear understanding on the solution and infrastructure stack
  • Communicate and promote enterprise architecture strategy, standards and roadmaps to all project teams
The Long Term Goals (which should be reached after the first 6 months) for these positions are the following:
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and advisory services to architecture and project teams to ensure that solutions are in line with the architecture direction and business strategies
  • Define and maintain architecture governance processes
  • Define and document advanced reference architectures and solution architectures
    • This company is planning to develop several advanced architecture solutions, ranging from business rules management, monitoring, integration, to cloud platforms and in-memory processing; they need to be defined, developed, documented, and maintained
    • Review current environment and document the architecture
  • Influence and provide input in the future direction for the enterprise architecture program including making sure that key technology decisions and recommendations for the program are in global and regional direction alignment
  • Maintain an enterprise architecture framework
  • Define application portfolio rationalization strategy
  • Define legacy modernization strategy
  • We have multiple mainframe systems that need to be reviewed in order to define the most optimal modernization approach
  • Define technology innovation approach, provide new technology planning activities
  • Provide pre-sales support for new efforts in enterprise architecture which includes:
    • Review the concept
    • Collaboratively work with infrastructure, security, and other counter-parts to develop the idea
    • Determine feasibility and identify risks
    • Develop high level estimates and work plan
Required Skills and Expertise:
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner or FEAF
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in documenting architecture and design
  • Ability to develop and communicate technical concepts via
  • MS PowerPoint to non-technical people
  • MS Word, UML, code snippet, etc. to technical people
  • Experience in the design, development, implementation and operational support of mission critical solutions in large scale environments and organizations
  • Broad experience with and exposure to enterprise applications and multi-platform environments
  • Must be able to think analytically, organize thoughts and act strategically
  • Experience leading and working in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to explain technical perspectives/positions without getting emotional
  • Ability to work through and resolve conflicts (technical)
  • Ability to communicate (upward, peer and downward) accurately and at appropriate time
  • Ability to manage and juggle multiple priorities with dexterity
Desired Skills:
  • Evaluating and/or implementing cloud based solutions (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Go Grid, etc.)
  • Developing software for global and multi-language use
  • Reviewing security vulnerability report from external security experts and assisting and developing counter-measures
  • Leveraging enterprise monitoring solutions to effectively monitor the application
  • Experience with Spring and Hibernate/JPA in Java, Spring.NET and NHibernate in .NET; Aspect Oriented Programming; SOA based ESB/BPM architecture (IBM stack WESB, DataPower, WPS) for solution development
  • Experience in OO design using UML; Understanding of Infrastructure Design (Servers, Networks, Load Balancers, etc.)
  • Experience with leveraging enterprise security authentication and authorization infrastructure (IBM stack TAM, TFIM)
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, JSON)
