Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation of construction schedule. 

• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and knowledgeable in construction methods.

• Experienced in directing work and managing subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, etc.

• Inspect and supervise all work in progress for conformity with company’s published quality standards. 

• Able to plan, stage and manage organized and safe job sites.

• Proven command of job process flow, sequencing, review, scheduling, progress updates, etc.

• Strong relationship development and communication skills working with, but not limited to: Salesperson(s), Coordinator, Home Owner, General Contractor, Agent, Vendors, Suppliers, etc.

• Regular follow up as to status of job. Documentation of all contact and updates in job file.  

• Initiate Change Orders, as necessary.

• Daily Site Reports.

• Daily/Weekly schedule planning.

• Review of all Work Orders.

• Planning meetings to ensure all projects are on time, on budget and as expected.  

• Hire, train, supervise and schedule work of Construction team.  

• Ability to maintain a high level of customer service and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7+ years of residential/commercial construction experience (field experience).

• Preferred: Graduate of four-year degree program in construction management or construction science. Those with engineering and architectural degrees may be considered as equally qualified if they have additional training in business administration and accounting.  

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience, managing multiple projects.  

• Ability to foster positive working conditions and safe uses of equipment.

• Must be able to maintain a cooperative relationship with fellow employees, public officials, engineers, architects, subcontractors, material suppliers, customers and general public.  

• Experience with preparation of direct and indirect construction budget.  

• Familiar with contracts including scope of work, specifications and payment schedules.   

• Demonstrated leadership abilities.

• Intermediate mathematical skills necessary, with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, areas, circumference and volume. 

• Reasoning ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. 

• Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.  

• Excellent written and oral skills with the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.  

• Certifications, Licenses, Registrations – Required to perform the essential duties of this job include driving record and driving abstract. Must be insurable under organizations insurance to drive company vehicles. L&I Electrical Certification required.  

• Other qualifications- Basic understanding of pool construction and pool equipment operation. Must speak, understand/comprehend, read and write English. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors and employees.
