Job Description

  • This is a full-time, 36-41h per week position. $14.00-15.00/hr, depending on education and related experience. 

We offer employer-paid health and dental insurance to our full-time employees regularly scheduled to work 30+ hours per week. Other benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, 401(k) with partial match, free meals on campus, and free clinical supervision hours to those pursuing an LCSW or LPC designation, among others.


Core Staff YCC shifts are below. In your cover letter, please specify if you're only available for one or the other, or if you're open to both (preferred).   

In order to be placed as a full-time YCC, you must be available for EACH DAY of the chosen shift.  


Short Shift: 
  • Wednesdays 9a-11p (2 hour break between 1-3p)
  • Thursdays 3p-11p
  • Fridays 3p-11p
  • Saturdays 9a-5p
36 hours total--you may have the option most weeks of picking up 4 extra hours if you'd like 40.

Long Shift:
  • Saturdays 4p-11p
  • Sundays 9a-11p 
  • Mondays 3p-11p
  • Tuesdays 3p-11p
  • Wednesdays 9a-1p

41 hours total.


Youth Care Counselor (YCC) partial list of duties:

  • Give guidance and supervision in order to implement treatment goals.
  • Plan, implement, supervise, and teach leisure, recreational, and enrichment activities
  • Ensure documentation of cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, treatment observations and considerations, etc. 
  • See that residents attend school, work-training, and jobs, as scheduled. Plan and carry out activities for residents for times when out of school.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old; some college preferred.
  • Experience with children or adolescents preferred.
  • Demonstrate psychological sensitivity toward children and be able to understand dynamics of individual and group behavior.
  • Must be able to pass an FBI fingerprint check and drug screen per state licensing standards
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no history of DWI/DUI in the past 10 years

Additional Information

Subject to both inside and outdoor environmental conditions. Must be able to lift and/or exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
