At the Liggins Institute, we have a vacancy for a highly organised and motivated individual to work with the Challenge Director and Chief Scientist for the High-Value Nutrition (HVN) National Science Challenge. This is an important role within a team that is contributing to New Zealand’s knowledge economy and growth of the food and beverage sector.
As the High-Value Nutrition Operations Manager you will work closely with the lead researchers and other stakeholders across New Zealand’s university, CRI, industry and government sectors to support the implementation of the National Science Challenge.
You will have a strong track record of programme management, in particular the ability to take a leading role in effectively developing contracts, and monitoring, reporting and reforecasting deliverables from long term research programs. Together with research leaders. You will have an ability to engage at all levels which may include with senior management, academia, government, industry bodies or private enterprises. Your experience in managing complex projects will mean you have wide-ranging networks and it is likely your career to date has included positions in research or programme management – ideally with an understanding of innovation processes employed by the food industry.
Food industry knowledge is considered essential as is a relevant tertiary qualification. You will have an attuned approach and be accustomed to managing a diverse workload.
The HVN Operations Manager will contribute to the efficient management and execution of the HVN NSC in a timely, inclusive and professional manner.
The HVN Operations Manager will assume responsibility for continuous improvement in programme management and reporting processes, and will contribute to the successful planning, execution, monitoring and control of projects against deadlines and budgets. Input into the development and implementation of business and stakeholder strategies and plans will also be key.
The HVN Operations Manager will play a broad role in supporting the Director of HVN to ensure value driven, sustainable and productive collaboration across all relevant parties pertaining to the Challenge.
