Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are growing our practice and would like to hear from experienced senior change managers looking to join a highly experienced team of Practitioners as a Change Manager.  Your role will be a crucial position within the change practice, managing the end-to-end change deliverables, including creating and implementing change management strategies and plans, maximising staff change adoption and usage, minimising resistance to change, change impact analysis and people risk management, stakeholder engagement and communication, business readiness and transition planning, and support for change leads.

Please note this a permanent, full time (37.5 hours/ week) position, with a salary range of $101,300-$135,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

The Change Management Practice was established over a decade ago within the Organisation Performance and Improvement (OPI) service division and is part of the Business Transformation Office (BTO). The practice has matured and grown considerably over time and has built a reputation for the strength of its service offering.  

It has delivered this through a team of experienced and credible practitioners providing quality change-management support and advice across the University. The breadth of experience within the team spans facilitation, engagement, and the ability to get others involved and motivate action with our people. It extends to coaching and mentoring for good change outcomes. 

He kōrero mōu | About you

 Ideally, you will have experience working within a business change management environment, including all facets of change (people, process, systems, technology), and have sound and demonstrated knowledge of Change Management methodologies, including Prosci and P3M  Project Management Framework. Candidates will be strongly considered with experience gained working in large and complex transformational pieces of work and will have a toolkit that includes, but is not limited to, agile, lean change management, and waterfall.

Having worked with senior stakeholders in a corporate, university, or large organisation, your communication skills will be required to influence and manage effectively at all levels of the business. 

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake 

  • Operate as Lead Change and Communications practitioner on selected projects
  • Determine in conjunction with business owners and project managers appropriately- scaled and effective Change Management strategies and plans
  • Ensure delivery is in line with strategies and plans and continues to meet project and business needs.
  • Work closely with Change Management resources who are new to the University to ensure they understand the Prosci Change Management framework and toolset; and can leverage internal networks
  • Undertaking change assessments and analysis for significant new initiatives
  • Establishing solid networks and working relationships
