Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Night Supervisor supports the evening management of Accommodation across residences within the University focusing on high quality health, safety, wellbeing and security support while delivering good administration support.

This is a client-facing role and point of contact for all administrative and facility coordination of the Accommodation, attending to residents during the night and upholding community standards. Health, safety and security leadership is critical to this role by ensuring safety and emergency protocols and procedures, responding to crisis situations and providing first aid treatment if needed. In support of the Resident Manager, this role will assist in looking after student welfare and providing advice to residents in achieving success in their studies with high degree of respect for privacy and confidentiality.

This is a permanent, part-time position at Waiparuru Hall. You will work Saturdays and Sundays between 11pm to 7am.

The salary range for this role is between $41,500 - 51,600. This will be pro-rated for part-time staff.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in security or a similar role is ideal
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills as you will be dealing with a range of people
  • A basic understanding of the security systems and Building Health & Safety compliance; however, we do provide basic training
  • Minimum of Level 2 Certificate in Security and Certificate of Approval are optional requirements for this role
  • Be physically fit as you will be conducting walking patrol regularly with some heavy lifting involved.   
  • A full NZ drivers license is essential in this role
