Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Researcher Skills and Development programme will focus on creating a suite of learning and development opportunities for our Researchers, to enable the University to attract, nurture and retain outstanding researcher talent.

We’re looking for an experienced human-centred design professional with a solid background in learning and development to lead our Learning Experience approach. The Learning Experience Designer will take a lead role in designing and developing fit for purpose, engaging and impactful learning experiences for face to face, blended and online contexts across a range of research-related topics. The ability to establish and maintain relationships will be key as the role will partner with a diverse range of Academic and Professional subject matter experts.

The role is fixed term for 12 months and will be part of a new cross-functional team working closely with our Office of Research Strategy and Integrity, and Organisational Development departments. As the role will be part of a new team, we’re looking for someone who can flex between strategy and operations as we’ll be looking to the role to provide thought-leadership and guidance, and to design and build engaging learning content and resources.

Qualifications

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • Experience in designing learning and development programmes for face to face, blended and online settings.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of subject matter experts
  • Proven ability to work with a range of authoring and design tools (i.e., Articulate 360, Adobe CS)
  • Ability to design and develop effective learning and development programmes for Academic staff and/or Postgraduate Researchers – not essential but highly advantageous
