Our IT Department, Connect, is currently are seeking an experienced Scrum Master/Team Coach to facilitate Agile practices and empower teams to deliver exceptional value. This role is pivotal in fostering high-performing team dynamics, building Agile capabilities, and driving continuous improvement across the Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
You will be responsible for coaching teams in excellent Agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of collaboration and transparency. By championing built-in quality, relentless improvement, and self-management, you’ll guide teams toward aligned goals and impactful outcomes.
Accountabilities for this role include:
- Supporting teams to operate with transparency, trust, and collaboration.
- Encouraging self-management, accountability, and a focus on clear goals and outcomes.
- Coaching with powerful questions, resolving conflicts, and fostering healthy team dynamics.
- Assisting in the development of team skillsets and fostering open, effective communication.
- Liaising with managers regarding team performance and development, offering support for any performance challenges.
- Facilitating Agile events, educating teams in Agile practices, and championing the principles of SAFe.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) fixed term role for 6 months. Our offices are based in Newmarket, Auckland, and we offer a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a servant leader and experienced Agile practitioner with strong coaching, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. You’ll bring hands-on experience working within Agile teams, along with the ability to mentor, influence, and guide teams toward delivering consistent, high-value outcomes.
You will also bring:
- Proven understanding and application of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
- At least five years’ experience in business or technology roles, including leading small teams.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- A thorough understanding of product or software delivery lifecycle processes.
- Scrum Master certification and/or a qualification equivalent to a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business.
