Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Practicum Placement Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating the practicum experiences of our training health professionals. This position requires a blend of customer service, administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills to ensure that students are successfully placed in practicum sites that align with their academic and professional goals. The Practicum Placement Coordinator serves as a liaison between educational institutions, practicum sites, Faculty members, and students, fostering partnerships and ensuring a seamless practicum placement process.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Administer, assist and coordinate student clinical placements:
  • Managing and building working relationships with existing clinics, as well as establishing new relationships with prospective clinics 
  • Contacting students and clinics to organise placements
  • Organising student assessment and completion requirements 
  • Collecting and recording student result documentation to deadline 
  • Organising payments to clinics, students, and accommodation 

This is a fulltime (37.5 hours/ week), 14-month fixed term position

Remuneration range is $62,400 – $73,379 per annum, dependent on skills and experience

  • Stakeholder Services: understand your students and be focused on delivering to their needs. 
  • Planning and Organising: coordination is key; forward plan, prepare and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Accounts/Figure Work: comfortable around numbers as you generate Purchase Orders and Invoices; working alongside Finance 
  • Continuous Improvement: be focused on ensuring that we offer first-class service to our students, clinics, and academic partners 
  • Build Relationships: maintain existing relationships with clinics, explore and connect with prospective clinics and ensure that we have adequate placement options for our students
  • Software skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe and willingness to learn and use job-specific databases
