Responsibilities for this position:

-- conceiving ideas for individual segments and overall shows
-- conducting interviews, writing scripts and producing elements
-- editing videos using Final Cut Pro X and uploading to a CMS
-- participating in daily news and enterprise meetings
-- seeing projects through from start to finish
-- filling in for staff as needed
-- others duties as assigned


Qualifications

Requirements for this position:

-- sound news judgment and best practices under intense time pressure
-- demonstrated experience in new media, social media and emerging platforms 
-- at least three years’ experience producing video content as part of a news organization
-- a college degree

-- seeing a project through from start-to-finish
-- partnering with and teaching newsroom peers
-- working on either side of the camera
-- having ideas on what the future of video news looks like
-- being a multi-talented team player

Additional Information

This is a full-time, Newspaper Guild-covered staff position located in the newsroom of The Washington Post in Washington, D.C.  All positions require applicants pass a background check and drug test.  Weekend, evening and early-morning hours are occasionally required.  The Washington Post is an EOE.
