Research and develop new methodologies for correcting, scoring and forecasting based on our unique/large set of weather
data, applying a wide variety of statistical techniques including time series analysis, high dimension clustering and machine
learning (Neural Net, SVM, Random Forest, Projection pursuit), to support on-going achievement of business objectives.
Current projects include renewable energies, electricity demand, weather peril risks for insurance, retail volume of sales and
·MS in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or other discipline related to Time-Series Analysis, Machine learning
and Forecasting, or other related discipline.
·5 years ofrelevant professional experience, with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities.
·Knowledge of model ensemble techniques and probabilistic forecasts.
·Can demonstrate mastery of scientific computing packages such as R, MATLAB, SAS, Scilab, Octave, etc.
·Programming capabilities including C++, Java, Python is a plus but not necessary.
·Ability to manage complex software development projects.
·Research, recommend, and implement statistical post process correction techniques proprietary forecasts.
·Brainstorm new methodologies, techniques, and variables to continue to increase the accuracy of our worldwide forecast
products and execute on same.
·Play an active role in the product requirements process, giving feedback to product management as to development
·Preparing and cleaning data from external and internal sources, input variable selection, and training statistical models.
·Provide accurate development time estimates for projects and tasks assigned.
·Debug software based upon feedback from Quality Assurance department and product management.
