Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Stream Designer for our Stormwater Management group in our Raleigh, NC office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Perform and/or Direct Stream Data field collection
  • Perform detailed stream analysis and design
  • Prepare construction documents and assist in construction management of stream projects.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS models.
  • Provide engineering assistance for the design of stormwater control measures, stormwater retrofit designs and other stormwater related projects
  • Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums to convey project results to our clients
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Communicate with clients and internal design team as directed by the Project Manager

Qualifications

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related degree) is required  
  • (Master’s preferred) or a closely related degree
  • Ideal candidates would have 3 to 5 years of experience (including municipal drainage, stormwater management and Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and the completion of Rosgen training) or a Master’s degree in water resources or biological system engineering with a focus in stream restoration
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred)
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and have good written/verbal communication skills
