About The Team
Tradeshift’s Apps Engineering takes what is unique about a company’s supply chain and turns it into a sustainable competitive advantage. Tradeshift Apps Engineering provides individual pluggable applications and integrations that work together to cover the different aspects of a business such as procurement, supplier risk, sustainability, finance, etc. We're a team of dedicated and nimble engineers who are focused on delivering the right value added solutions to enable our customers’ digital transformation.
What you will be doing as a Tradeshift Software Engineer:
Building software to solve big problems and designing solutions with cutting edge technology
Working with customers to gain insight into the world’s largest supply chains and working on projects to digitize and provide transparency and traceability across the supply chain.
Working closely with your peers to develop solutions, from prototyping and high-level system design to application development
Evangelizing Tradeshift’s Platform both internally, and with partners and customers
You are a developer excited to use technology to solve big problems with at least 2 years of experience in a technical environment
You enjoy the opportunity to talk to customers, partners, and our external facing teams to understand their needs and make a direct impact with your system implementation
You’re able to quickly estimate the level of work required for a system change or project
You know how to present technical implementations to non-technical audiences
You have great written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience working in cross-functional teams across multiple geographies is a plus
You are a fast learner with a strong motivation and curiosity to come up to speed quickly on new business areas, products, and technologies
You thrive on challenges that require innovative problem solving and out of the box thinking
You take pride in the quality of your work, attention to detail, and focus on commitments
Prior experience with NodeJS and ideally have experience with at least one other language such as Java and/or Python
Knowledge of cloud-based architectures as well as build and deployment models
Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs
Familiar with microservices architecture
Experience with the serverless framework is a big plus
Experience with relational databases and database architecture; Experience with Postgres is a big plus
Knowledge of AWS services and architecture; queueing (kinesis/kafka and/or SQS), DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation
Familiar with logging tools, incorporating metrics and monitoring tools, and test driven development
Knowledge of techniques to debug and troubleshoot complex operational problems
Prior experience integrating with third party services is highly desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
