Team 

Tradeshift’s Machine Learning team & the business analytics team is looking for a talented front-end engineer to join our team. You will become a member of a small, highly skilled team that works on bringing various Tradeshift data products in front of our customers. 

We have great autonomy and responsibility to choose the best solutions, technologies and approaches to take Tradeshift to the next level.

Job Description

What a day is like:

  • Integrate machine learning-powered features into Tradeshift frontend codebase.

  • Build and deploy rich visualizations to our customers, collaborating with data engineers and product managers.

  • Build beautiful, robust, cross-device compatible UI and features, and ensure there is sufficient coverage with automated tests

  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use, collaborating with the team in an Agile/Scrum environment

  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

  • Work with other teams on implementing machine learning-based solutions.

  • Engage in discussions about and contribute solutions towards making both incremental and drastic changes in our frontend framework

  • Write high-quality, tested, peer-reviewed code.

Qualifications

You’re perfect for this role if you:

  • 1-3+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • Working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases as well as a variety of other databases.

  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.

  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks.

  • Experience with common Javascript frameworks such as React and Angular.

  • Experience with server-side Javascript development (Node.js)

  • Experience with web programming concepts such as REST, SOAP, AJAX, HTTP protocol

  • Experience developing web applications with large scope and complexity

  • Experience working in agile and scrum methodologies

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to engineers, designers, and product 

Nice-to-Have Skills 

  • Experience with big data stacks and data pipeline tools is a plus

  • Good knowledge about JavaScript, experience with frameworks such as React is a big plus
