Company Description

About Tradeshift

Tradeshift is a unicorn in the fintech industry. We are disrupting a typically stagnant environment by connecting companies of all sizes and providing them with the platform and network needed to create value from old processes like procurement, invoicing, payments, and workflow. We recognize that business is both messy and social - two revelations that have driven the development of Tradeshift, a platform for all your business interactions. We work hard and our teams have great freedom and responsibility to choose the best solutions, technologies and approaches to evolve the product to the next level.

We believe that being a global, multicultural company is a tremendous strength and we have people working from 18 different countries with hubs in Bucharest, Copenhagen, Kuala Lumpur, and San Francisco. We believe that if we truly focus on how to work distributed and collaborate across locations and (home) offices, we will not only enjoy work more but also build better products for our customers, and ultimately be a better company.

Job Description

Why Lead Total Rewards at Tradeshift?

This isn’t going to be your typical “total rewards” job. Sure, we want you to take a data-driven and innovative approach to design effective and culturally aligned and compelling compensation and benefits. We also want you to design and implement a wide range of effective total rewards practices, recognition vehicles, and “workplace” of the future resources and perks.

But this role is much more than that. Your passion and curiosity will help us figure out how to design a “pay-for-performance” framework in a world where managers would rather rate restaurants than people. You will also help us build and drive genuine sustained engagement with top talent in super-competitive and diverse markets globally (we’re in a lot of countries and cultures) through different programs and tools that put our employees wellbeing first. You’ve been around the total rewards block once or twice but you aspire to make your block much bigger and richer (pun intended) and stretch yourself to do the best work of your career.

What You'll OWN

  • Translate Tradeshift’s strategic priorities into a plan for engaging and rewarding great talent and coordinating People programs that empower Tradeshifter’s to do their best work.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, implementation, administration, and communication of all compensation programs globally.
  • Help develop and partner with Tradeshift’s compensation committee, Executive team, and Chief People Officer to create and deploy world-class compensation, benefits and wellbeing programs.
  • Develop & implement strategies to ensure compensation, benefits, and perks continue to attract & retain representative talent across all geographies in which we have employees.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and internal customers to design, build and implement innovative solutions based on data-driven needs assessments in the areas of employee engagement, performance-based and culturally anchored recognition and rewards (including cash, equity, benefits and workspace perks and wellbeing).
  • On a day-to-day basis, you’ll consult with managers, People business partners and recruiters to ensure equitable pay decisions are being made, including helping managers to create or update role descriptions and align them to the right compensation ranges.
  • Key partners will include but not limited to People business partners, recruiters, People Ops, Finance, Sales Ops, and Legal. You''ll need to be flexible logistically and culturally as your partners are spread across the globe.
  • Leverage and manage our benefits broker and self-help resources (which of course, you’ll be incentivized to improve) while still ensuring high levels of employee/customer delight.
  • Manage Tradeshift’s recurring salary, bonus and equity reviews. Build robust data models and analysis leading into the review planning cycles; develop and manage user-intuitive tools and resources available for the organization’s use during compensation planning.
  • Review relevant market data and practices and apply them to rewards structures and programs in a way that makes sense to Tradeshift. This would include participating in multiple market surveys.
  • Use our HRIS (Workday) to analyze data and apply insights to help the organization and leadership make the best decisions regarding people and improve total rewards-related business processes.
  • Think and act big- always thinking and acting in ways that scale for a dynamic globally dispersed organization whether it be systems, tools, and/or processes. At the same time, you have a keen attention to detail and quality, a statistics-oriented approach to reviewing data, and are extremely process-oriented.
  • Evaluate benefit renewal costs and create premium cost sharing model; present results to relevant leadership; manage the annual Open Enrollment process; and, analyze enrollments vs modeled projections and resulting costs after Open Enrollment.
  • Really innovate in getting work done whether it’s with programs, communications, education or training, data analysis and insights, and systems.
  • Build, Lead and scale a high performing total rewards team to deliver strategic and operational compensation, rewards and wellbeing programs.

  • Intellectual curiosity combined with macro and micro analytical skills to define and solve problems; data-oriented without getting “analysis paralysis.”
  • Enjoys and is very good at taking initiative and smart risks, but at the same time is a collaborator.
  • Must be highly proficient with Google Sheets and Slides. Workday proficiency a plus.
  • Pre-to-post-IPO experience helpful.
