About The Role
We are looking for an outstanding Senior Backend Engineer with web development experience to join our Tradeshift China engineering team. You will become a member of an international, skilled, cross-functional, and self-driven production team. Tradeshift is one of the most successful and fastest growing startups of China since we were founded in 2010.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build business-critical features used for the Tradeshift Platform in collaboration with our Tradeshift product and engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
Requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing until deployment and verification
Write high-quality, tested and peer-reviewed code
Helping with investigations and root cause analysis, often in real time, troubleshooting existing software related platform issues that are impacting our customers
Provide support to customer facing teams and mentoring to team members
Tackle the challenges and opportunities that come with a very rapidly growing system. Both in running the service as well as meeting the needs of tomorrow.
Help to define the technical direction and drive the implementation of that direction with special emphasis on ensuring quality through sound engineering processes.
Instill quality and excellence into the team culture by leading design and implementation efforts, actively monitoring the results, and making necessary adjustments.
Collaborate with teams across the world to deliver important features and do data migration.

5+ years of industry software development experience
Have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Excellent technical design, coding, problem solving skills and desire to learn
Strong knowledge of the Java programming language in a web environment working or self-study experience of Java8 or higher versions is a plus
Development with relational database, Non-SQL, KVS experience
Experience with Linux/Unix, Apache, Tomcat, Jetty in live environments.
Experience with or interest for high-scalability distributed system technologies
Experience in structured development and build environments (continuous integration, automated testing, automated configuration and deployment)
Experience with internet programming (REST, SOAP, client/server, Ajax) and related security paradigms (e.g. OAuth, OpenId, SSO/SAML, WS-Security, PKI)
Curiosity towards new technology, programming languages, frameworks, etc..
Experience working in a large, globally distributed organization is a plus
Experience working with very large scale datasets in parallel and distributed computing is a plus
Experience in micro service design/deployment is a plus
Experience of working in Agile environment is a plus
Experience of continuous delivery, e.g. Jenkins is a plus
Be fluent in English speaking, reading and writing is a plus
