About The Role

Tradeshift is looking for an experienced, energetic and analytical tax professional to join Tradeshift as a Director of Income Tax. The Director of Tax will oversee the global income tax provision, compliance and planning processes.  The role will rely heavily on coordinating and collaborating across functions to enhance and improve financial systems and external reporting associated with income tax matters.

Job Description

  • Spearhead worldwide US GAAP tax provision, tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5) and related disclosures. Lead compliance (US Federal, US States and International), accounting for income taxes, technical research, process improvement, and risk and controls

  • Champion the development of tax strategy to support the company’s growth and business initiatives

  • Stay abreast of tax law changes in the U.S. and in the key foreign jurisdictions we operate to manage risk and identify potential planning opportunities.

  • Manage the tax compliance effort of the company’s federal and state income tax returns.

  • Develop and execute tax planning strategies

  • Support income tax audits and responding to State tax notices and other similar correspondence

  • Perform research related to federal, state and local tax issues as they arise; document tax implications accordingly

  • Collaborate across corporate Finance, Legal, Accounting, Human Resources and other organizations with respect to tax strategies and projects impacting these functions.

  • Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required 

Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Masters degree or MBA a plus.  You have CPA certification or demonstrated progress towards CPA certification.

  • Have proven experience working in large scale public accounting and industry experience

  • Possess deep technical expertise with demonstrated experience resolving complex tax issues

  • Have experience successfully running multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Are able to quickly understand and integrate business objectives with tax strategies, and effectively communicate tax requirements to executive team

  • Have strong knowledge and accounting principles ASC 740 and ASC 718

  • Possess excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to leverage, coach and motivate talent to inspire action and achieve results

  • Have experience working with a mix of in-house and outsourced resources
