Job Description

Over the past eight years, EFE has turned the basic concept of education leading to employment into operational reality across the Middle East and North Africa.  The Program Associate will work with the DC based program team and in partnership with the EFE affiliate teams to provide programmatic support to the affiliates in Morocco and Tunisia as they build sustainable local non-profits in areas that include program and grants management, proposal development, and research among other responsibilities.

 

Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Research country sectors and statistics, corporate and academic project partners, and potential donors (including foundations, governments, companies and individuals).
  • Provide support to affiliate staff members in key areas including program management, grants management, communications, proposal development among others. 
  • Coordinate special projects under the supervision of the Program Manager
  • Maintain internal records to track programmatic progress and outline outstanding deliverables on a continual basis.
  • Draft and edit programmatic reports and updates for donors.
  • Review programmatic expense reports and track budget-to-actual expenditures.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required and able.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience writing donor reports for non-profit organizations with considerable and confident knowledge of the report-writing process, from beginning to end.
  • Ability to interface directly with affiliate staff and communicate priorities in clear manner
  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to analyze programmatic progress and identify outstanding deliverables
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write persuasively, clearly and concisely and to blend information from multiple sources into a single, effective fundraising document.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience living or working in the Middle East and North Africa preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • French language skills strongly preferred; Arabic a plus.
