Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a world class search experience that’s used by millions of travelers per month to find their perfect vacation rental. You will have ownership of our relevancy algorithm, technology platform and end-to-end user search experience. You will work closely with several stakeholders including engineering, analytics, and business development to deliver compelling product improvements that increase the likelihood of travelers finding the perfect vacation rental.

Responsibilities

  • Make the search experience fast, easy to use and relevant for our users who want to plan the perfect vacation.
  • Work closely with our engineering team to make your plans a reality and along the way learn a thing or two about engineering.
  • Balance the needs of our partners and our travelers to deliver the best vacation rentals to travelers while maximizing revenue.
  • Independently ideate, identify, manage and prioritize product requirements for the search experience.
  • Manage the design/build/test/release process for the search experience while maintaining a connection with users and stakeholders.
  • Define, track, and report on key business and product success metrics.

Qualifications

  • Degree or experience in a quantitative field (e.g. math, engineering, econ, statistics, etc.) is preferred.
  • 4 - 6 years of product management experience. 
  • Experience building search algorithms and functionality that users love to use and maximizes revenue for the company.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop a compelling long-term product vision for the search experience.
  • Experience with A/B testing search algorithms and experiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of current e-commerce and mobile standards/best practices for product search experiences.
  • Experience driving impact through cross-functional leadership, relationship building and intellectually robust ideas.
  • A positive, get things done working style. You are not afraid to evangelize unpopular user or business goals.
  • A “do it right but make sure you get it done” mentality.
  • Comfortable seeing the “big picture” and meticulously thinking through every interaction requirement of a consumer’s experience.
