Trowbridge & Trowbridge is seeking a Senior Physical Security Project Engineer to join our outstanding T&T team at the Job Corps in Austin, TX.

Position Description:

The Physical Access Control Engineer configures, deploys, tests, maintains, monitors and troubleshoots client's internal network components to provide a robust communications platform.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Install and maintain an IP based Physical Access Control system.
  • Install and configure an IP based video surveillance camera and integrated access control environment along with Real Time Locating Services.
  • Maximize network Physical Access Control performance by monitoring infrastructure; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with 3rd party support resources and fellow IT engineers on network physical access control optimization.
  • Leads physical access control network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades and new products/features, and integration.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for all Physical Access Control issues; must be available for maintenance windows after hours and over weekends.
  • Participates in the diagnosis, isolation and resolution of Physical Access Control and integration problems. Identifies and documents the root cause.
  • Drives documentation of Standard Operating Procedure documents.
  • Secures Physical Security Project system by enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
  • Works closely with other departments/organizations and collaborates with other IT staff.
  • Ensures the most cost-effective and efficient use of Physical Security Project. Drives improvements in physical network control process and standardization.
  • Ensures compliance with change control processes and adherence to standards.
  • Provide direction and oversight to staff on physical security projects
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff
  • Participate in planning and budgeting for enterprise physical security projects


Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in a hands on technical role in an enterprise operations environment with a complex IT infrastructure
  • Configure and maintain Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco firewalls and Cisco wireless access points, Wireless LAN Controllers, LAN/WAN Technologies.
  • A good understanding of VOIP concepts as it relates to Cisco Unified Communication Manger
  • A good understanding Active Directory domains and Exchange mail servers
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experienced with Network Analysis tools.
  • Experience with change management control tools and policies.
  • Analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills:
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with non-technical end users over the phone and in person and to resolve end user problem with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Willing and able to travel on short notice to resolve customer issues
  • Must be proficient in English and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of users in the organization including executives
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a commitment to furthering the goals of the organization
  • Must be a self-starter that can manage multiple priorities and deliver on commitments every time
  • Certification such as CCNA (preferred) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) preferred, and/or Industry equivalent certifications.
