Job Description

Lead an integrated team of project controls professionals - Planners, Cost Engineers, Risk Managers, change coordinators and data analysts

Accountable for the integrity of the protect controls deliverables enabling a decision support service to programme delivery:

  • Baseline
  • Forecast
  • Risks + Opportunities
  • Recovery and Mitigation Plans.

Produce the integrated baseline:

  • Scope
  • Schedule
  • Cost Estimate and basis of Estimate
  • Risk Register

Specify Project Controls requirements for sub contracts

Integrate Supplier baselines in to Level 2 baseline

Assure and integrate supplier Project Controls deliverables

Manage the baseline change control processes ensuring that:

  •  Impact assessments are carried out,
  •  Cost and schedule quotations from the suppliers are assured
  •   The baseline is managed under configuration control.

Publish reporting outputs including dashboards and performance analysis

Create cost, schedule and risk exposures forecasts and recovery / mitigation plans

Skills and Experience

Knowledge of all Integrated Project Controls Disciplines

Understanding of Project Controls methodologies, techniques and processes for programme and project management in a major infrastructure environment

Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC;

Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, manufacture and construction methods and techniques in a UK context;

Strong people management skills and experience of motivating teams through several organisational levels.

Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, analyse and present complex data from an Integrated Project Controls perspective;

Uses and applies Earned Value Management (EVM) in a large, complex Programme or Project environment. Can advise on adapting Earned Value Management (EVM) to suit the Programme or Project;

Experience of working in a large integrated team over the full lifecycle of a project;

Extensive experience in ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility in a regulated environment;

Experience in the use of industry-standard software, such as CostOS, Primavera P6, EcoSys and ARM;

Experience in planning and delivering major infrastructure development programmes.

•Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes.

•Ability to challenge the ‘status quo’ and generate / empower others to generate innovative ideas and opportunities for improvement.

•Track record of overcoming resistance to implementing changes which deliver business value.

•Data Driven: Analyses data to support strategic decision making and daily operations. Actively seeks to use to data to improve ways of working – contributing to the continuous improvement culture at HPC.

•Data Literacy: Ability to communicate, work with and read about data in context.
