Job Description

Title : COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 6 months

Location: Prefer San Jose but can be remote (work from home)


Job Description:

Client is looking for a Communication Specialist to provide support for a major Agile Transformation project in the San Jose, California area. The Communication Specialist must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships, as well as executing a multiple communication program. The Communication Specialist will need to be able to crystalize messages in stories that are consumable for three different audiences:

1) Executives (Senior and Junior)

2) Secretive Security Technical Engineers

3) IT Developers with limited understanding of business concepts

The Communication Specialist will need to be able to organize directories and plot information flow for proper communications planning and executing the strategic communications plan.

Key Accountabilities:

Works under the direction of management for the implementation of communications plans in support of business objectives, including employee engagement, culture change, change management and related initiatives.

Develops and maintains intranet content and ensures all information is current and relevant to employee needs. Content updates include but are not limited to writing and editing copy with accompanying images, such as photos, charts or graphics, posting news releases, presentations, video, case studies, marketing materials, etc.

The above tasks require developing and maintaining relationships with corporate personnel to proactively identify topics and gather content.

Acts as liaison with remote team members to track content updates for intranet and ensure all editorial processes and procedures are followed.

Maintain metrics to demonstrate effectiveness and impact of communication activities. Must develop relationships with employees at all levels of the organization to identify communication needs and effectiveness.

Publish metrics for the Agile Transformation Office.

Interacts with business leaders on communication support they require (talking points, letters, presentations).

Knowledge/Skills:

Strong writing, planning, organizational, and technical capabilities, specifically for website and intranet updates, using content management systems.

Knowledge of integrated communications planning and execution.

Understanding of matrix environment, a plus.

Past experience working in an IT environment, a plus

Confluence experience, a plus

MS Office Suite

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Arts, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.

Agency or other fast-paced communications environment experience is required.

3-5 years experience with content management tools and writing for print, digital and web.

Must submit writing samples.
