Job Description

Position: Sr. DBA

Location: Atlanta, GA 30301

Duration: 6+ months

Position Description

  • Perform production database administration tasks in a cloud environment for multiple database platforms including AWS RDS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elastic Search, RedShift, Azure SQL, Azure DW, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • Responsible for mission-critical databases across a fast moving enterprise.
  • Tasks include maintenance, troubleshooting, tuning, optimization, installation, upgrades, backup/recovery, replication, and data migration across multiple data centers and multiple database server architectures/systems.
  • Support cloud hosted databases and migrations of on-premise databases to cloud hosted databases.
  • Scripting creation and maintenance of database infrastructure in cloud hosted environments.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a database administrator or related IT position.
  • Expertise in more than one database platform (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Elastic Search –Red Shift is a huge plus).
  • Expertise in cloud hosted infrastructure on AWS or Azure.
  • Expertise in scripting database operations.
  • Experience with scripted infrastructure systems such as Chef, OpsWorks, Terraform, ARM or DSC (Amazon and Open Source tools very desirable for this role).
  • Proficiency in query languages for multiple databases.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting performance issues in cloud hosted infrastructure.
