Job Description

Provide professional level support* for scientific projects conducted in the Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice (ACE) and assist in the coordination of technology based approaches for the Improvement Science Research Network (ISRN). *includes/not limited to implementing and maintaining technology-based techniques that enable the conduct of improvement research focusing on building and maintaining team collaboration.

Job Duties:

Responsible for the informatics-based operation of a virtual research center that supports network communication and collaboration for multi-site research studies in healthcare improvement. Update and manage the applied technology approaches to support the research of virtual scientific teams. Update content on a daily/weekly basis and monitor workflow.

Create, write, proof, and update content for research center web sites and other communication venues. Maintain quality control for accuracy, tone, and target audience. Publicize/deliver new content to the target audience via defined delivery strategies.

Formulate and suggest options for technology-based communication strategies according to project requirements. Coordinate website content and workflow with researchers, project staff, graphic designers, and the IT services team; Establish, develop, and update editorial calendar; work with other departments to support effective use of information technology approaches by users.

Recommend options for improving quality and implement problem solving solutions related to the project; make recommendations regarding purchase of equipment; consult with users to refine or adapt technological methodologies to fit research requirements; collaborate in the development of new techniques to support the virtual research network.

Perform other duties as assigned as part of the ACE Team; contribute to develop, design, and conduct one or more small or moderately complex research projects according to project plan; review progress and evaluate results.







Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing or equivalent areas required with 0-1 year of experience with virtual engagement spaces such as shared collaboration spaces, email, blogs, social media platforms, interactive collaboration (e.g. web based meetings) and websites with varying levels of security within the site. Experience working with collaborative groups and/or working in virtual enterprises and environments is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education/experience that directly relates to duties of the position; experience with MS Office Suite; website content management systems (especially Drupal); Adobe Creative Suite; experience with virtual shared workspace such as SharePoint. Experience working with collaborative groups and/or working in virtual enterprises and environments is preferred.
