Job Description

At Uppercut, we are looking for a Business Development/Account Manager who has a knack for finding and building great new client relationships, with an eye for business and a drive to grow revenue.  In addition to bringing great clients to Uppercut, the BD/AM has responsibility for managing those client relationships for our creative studio, and will be the vital link between our creative director + studio manager and the client.

Uppercut is looking for candidates who can:


  • Develop, nurture and grow the client relationship in terms of revenue generated and account profitability
  • Manage multiple projects with high client satisfaction
  • Develop detailed proposals and statements of work with the support of creative team members
  • Develop, nurture and grow the client relationship in terms of revenue generated and account profitability
  • Create opportunities for deeper collaboration and interaction and reinforce the client’s status as a participant in the process
  • Provide Uppercut internal teams with appropriate insight into client’s strategic business initiatives
  • Build relationships with decision makers within targeted client organizations


We encourage you to apply if you have:


  • 5 years of Business Development and Account Management experience, ideally in Internet Marketing or Advertising Online Media
  • Experience working with distributed, cross functional teams
  • Proven skills in business development and a solid network of business contacts
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or relevant field
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation and leadership
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, including outstanding presentation skills
  • Excellence in interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building with strong problem solving skills related to program and account management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Team orientation, and a fundamental belief that we are stronger when we succeed as a team
  • Creative thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to travel
  • Ideal candidate is based in one of Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco (Bay Area)
