Job Description

Upright Citizens Brigade is hiring temporary part-time Event Staff to join our team for limited 6-month terms for our performance and teaching venues. This position reports to the Venue Manager.

Ideal candidates are superfans of all things UCB or current UCB students with a strong familiarity with how our live improv and sketch shows run. In addition to an hourly wage, UCB Event Staff receive 80% discounts on classes at UCB.

Seasonal Event Staff can expect to work 1-2 shifts/week at our soon-to-be-opened New York City live entertainment theatre. Shifts can be 4-8 hours long, and you must be available to work weekday and weekend shifts.

Job Details:

- Reports to the Shift Lead, responsible for ensuring excellent customer service.

- Provides an excellent patron experience at all performances.

- Maintains the lobby's appearance and nightly cleaning duties and all public areas.

- Helps in safely loading and unloading all audiences during and after performances.

- Processing ticket sales using a computerized ticketing system.

- Processing concessions using a computerized cashier system.

- Providing general events and exhibition information for the public

- Managing patrons in an outside line

Qualifications

- Previous performing arts box office experience

- Computer skills: emailing, reporting, Google Calendar, Google Sheets and Eventbrite administration

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.

- Skill in guest relations, phone etiquette, filing, multi-task environment, and attention to detail

- Ability to communicate, work well with others, and work in a high-volume, public-facing, and sometimes stressful environment.

-  Ability to maintain proper etiquette around high-profile performers and guests.
