Job Summary:
We are searching for a motivated and bright Account Manager who enjoys selling and building strong business relationships with clients. The right candidate is one that has been able to couple his/her creativity with a strong business sense. They must also possess excellent customer service and problem solving skills, and be a tenacious project closer.

Typical Valley Forge clients are smart and fun, but work in a high pressure and fast-paced environment to supply soft goods and textiles for government industry projects that have fast timeframes and tight deadlines. 

The day-to-day:

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to find new construction opportunities, customer requirements and solicit orders.
• Calls on bases in assigned territory to obtain key player’s contact information to send packages to.
• Entertains and networks with prospective clients.
• Presents or demonstrates products with emphasis on design, function, sustainability and performance features while focusing on clients design, end-use and budget requirements.
• Maintains and updates base store displays in assigned territory.
• Follows up on all open quotes in assigned territory to determine award dates, probability of sale and other pertinent information.
• Develops and maintains relationships with specification and purchasing contacts
• Investigates, diffuses and resolves challenges with regards to samples, purchase orders and deliveries within territory.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

• Military retirees and Veterans are encouraged to apply!
• Minimum of 3 years’ of sales experience within the government industry is required
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Experience with government contracts is strongly preferred
• Experience and extensive knowledge of the FAR and compliance regulations for GSA, TAA & Berry Amendment is preferred
• Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines is required
• Must be comfortable working with Excel, extra brownie points if you have experience with Salesforce CRM
