Job Description

As a Civil/Structural Lead Technical Consultant, the incumbent will act as a member of the Bayer Technology Services (BTS) Americas project team and work with project managers to ensure that competent discipline support is maintained in the department and assigned to capital projects, engineering studies and programs.

More specifically related to this role, the selected incumbent will have responsibilities including the following:

• Act as a discipline liaison for all engineering discipline activities between BTS Americas, Bayer AG, Bayer operating companies and external organizations while interacting with senior representatives
• Maintain a network of external peers and associations to allow for continual bench-marking of current best industry practices
• Coordinate the recruitment, evaluation, training and development of personnel when required
• Responsible for guiding and directing discipline execution deliverables including schedule compliance, scope adherence and technical quality
• Provide technical advice, guidance and council to BTS Americas, Bayer operating companies, and external clients
• Lead the development of strategic and/or operational policies, practices and procedures while providing leadership and strategy for safety and code compliance programs and issues
• Conceive, define, evaluate and promote innovative engineering and other opportunities for continual improvement of services provided by BTS Americas.
• May be designated as the “Responsible Engineer” for BTS Professional Firm Registration in states where BTS is licensed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree of Science (Civil, Structural) engineering degree is required with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the CSA area
• This position requires a PE (Professional Engineer) license and a strong background in civil/structural code requirements, as well as, some knowledge of HVAC and other interrelated “building” disciplines (such as MEP)
• A strong background in code requirements, as well as knowledge of HVAC and other interrelated “building” disciplines (such as MEP) is required. A thorough knowledge of both industrial and commercial design, planning, execution and construction is strongly preferred, including cGMP experience, clean room installations and other pharma-related design.

• Comprehensive engineering knowledge in his/her discipline and broad practical experience in order to be recognized as BTS’s technical expert
• Experience in design knowledge, construction management, and managerial skills
• Ability to assimilate technical knowledge quickly in order to maintain advancements in his/her field of expertise
• Demonstrated skills in management, estimating, planning, communication, coordination, decision making, negotiation, coaching, and in quality and safety awareness
• Demonstrated individual relationship skills, such as leadership and influencing others, and interpersonal skills are imperative in order to coordinate the wide variety of tasks inside a group of professional people to meet the demands of BTS management, project managers, and other divisional technical personnel
• Willingness & ability to travel approximately 75% of the time in this position.

Additional Information

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 USD

Bonus: 15%
