Lead and supervise the operational team at New Zealand's first Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) facility, ensuring excellence in safety, performance, and reliability. Responsible for developing operational standards and managing integration with existing Moa Point WWTP while establishing best practices and developing local capability.

What you’ll be responsible for

Leadership and People Management:

• Lead, mentor, and supervise SMF operational team
• Foster proactive safety culture
• Coordinate shift patterns and resource allocation
• Monitor team performance and provide feedback
• Deputise for Wastewater Treatment Manager when required
• Drive employee engagement and development

Operational Management:

• Ensure compliance and optimal performance of SMF processes
• Oversee daily operational activities
• Collaborate with WWTP teams for integrated performance\
• Review and analyse operational data and trends
• Implement process improvements
• Coordinate maintenance activities
• Ensure accurate data recording
• Safety and Compliance:
• Lead site safety initiatives
• Ensure environmental compliance
• Oversee contractor management
• Maintain emergency response preparedness
• Investigate incidents and hazards

Knowledge Transfer:

• Provide expert guidance in THP operations
• Transfer technical knowledge to local teams
• Establish operational procedures

Required Qualifications and experience:

• Degree in Engineering and/or Technical certifications in Wastewater treatment

• Minimum 5 years experience in THP operations and demonstrated expertise in wastewater treatment processes

• Demonstrated supervisory experience

• Leadership track record

• Health and Safety certifications

• Fluent English language skills (verbal and written)

• History in training and mentoring operational staff
