Job Description
Job Summary
The Executive Director will provide clinical, operational, and human resource support to the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Represents and communicates the Veritas Collaborative mission, vision, core values, ethics, and goals within the facility, as well as ethics, goals and strategy of the larger organization
- Leads the Clinical, Medical and Administrative teams in providing best practice care
- Proactively interacts with referral sources whenever possible, including at industry events and during facility tours
- Visioning, implementing, and supervising clinical program maintenance, modification, improvements, and/or expansions
- Provides clinical supervision of physicians, psychotherapists, therapeutic assistants, and other staff as assigned
- Oversees overall management of the facility, in conjunction with support from the management services team
- Primary responsibility for the financial viability and success of the facility, supported by the management services team.
- Completes all facility reporting
- Responsibility for facility compliance, including but not limited to The Joint Commission accreditation, State Licensure, and HIPAA/HIPAA HITECH, with support from the corporate compliance staff.
- Responsible for balancing the need for quality patient care with the economic demands of the business, including critically assessing staffing needs, programming, and other aspects of the operations of the facility to maximize results while managing costs
- Assists the Intake Coordinators with screening potential patients for suitability when indicated
- Ambassador for Veritas
- Participates on Corporate Leadership Team
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to deliver quality patient care and manage the unit
- Collaborates with corporate compliance staff in establishing and maintaining accreditation requirements
- Responsible for ensuring effectiveness of the overall utilization review process, including as necessary:, mentoring, and instructing other staff in conducting utilization reviews when indicated
- Oversees outcome evaluations
- Ensures patient care optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality per Veritas P&Ps.
- Demonstrates competency and sensitivity in the area of multi-cultural, racial, religious/spiritual and sexual orientation issues
- Ensures necessary staff and departmental meetings occur and actively participates in those meetings
- Ensures development and retention of strong referral sources relationships
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible and organized, and to function calmly and effectively under stressful situations
- Maintains good working relationship within the facility and with other facility managers Consults other facilities as appropriate to collaborate on patient care and performance improvement activities
- Accurately determines type of assistance/setting/resources necessary for the patient/family and provides appropriate resources/assistance/list of facilities
- Provides crisis intervention to patients as needed
- Attends committee, QI, and management meetings, as appropriate
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
- Complies with all organizational polices regarding ethical business practices
- Monitors and coordinates record keeping in accordance with facility and corporate policies to ensure that documentation meets current standards and policies
- Attends administrative meetings both internally and within the corporate structures
- Interfaces with various corporate offices regarding marketing, compliance, payroll, accounting, and HR
- Collaborates with clinical staff to assist in interpretation of insurance benefits and provides any specific criteria required by insurance to aide in access of benefits
- Completes annual and periodic staff performance reviews and competency assessments
- Responsible for Quality Assurance actives within the facility, including chart audits
- Ensures hiring and training of staff per Veritas protocol
Qualifications
Regulatory Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in a mental health field
- Licensed clinical professional (ex: LCSW, PhD, LCP, LMFT )
- Eating Disorders Specialist or strong eating disorders experience
- CEDS Certification strongly preferred
- Strongly prefer DBT experience
- Strongly prefer Adolescent and Adult Experience
- Strong understanding of Family Based Therapy and prefer extensive experience in FBT
- CPR and First Aid certification (offered at the facility)
Professional Requirements:
- Completes annual education requirements
- Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations, and accrediting organization standards
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times
- Adheres to facility safety policies and procedures, client rights, infection control policies and procedures, and drug free workplace policy
- Complies with plans to meet the requirements and standards of licensing and accrediting agencies
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
- Communicates the mission, vision, core values, ethics and goals of the facility
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Bilingual in Spanish would be a significant advantage.
Skills:
- Strong and detailed knowledge of behavioral health, eating disorders, computer skills, and P &L management.
- Highly organized, punctual, responsible, and independent.
- Effective communication, customer service, and telephone skills.
- Flexible in adjusting to new and rapidly changing situations.
- Ability to understand medical systems, EMR and paper charts, and physician orders as they pertain to full revenue cycle management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
