PR/Advertising/Marketing internship

  • Intern

Company Description

Job Description

We’re looking for an exceptional summer intern to join our team and help out with our product & social media marketing. This is a paid, full-time internship position lasting from May/June - Aug/Sept.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Forget taffeta-filled blog posts and Pinterest boards full of 2000-and-late wedding stationery. We’re looking for a driven person to bring unique, cutting-edge taste & content to our blog and help us with social media strategy. We need someone to:

Create original content and design blog posts for Wedding Party multiple times a week. (Extra points if you’re a DIY master or you’re willing to do some craftin’ this summer.)
Research current wedding trends and companies to help us focus on relevant content for our marketing strategy
Engage with our audience and grow our presence among brides and grooms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest (and maybe Tumblr if you’ve mastered the art of hilarious GIFs).
Start relevant, meaningful conversations with our wedding peers in the social media space
Find cool bloggers and wedding professionals that we could partner with, and think of creative new ways to collaborate with them through our blog or social media presence.
Find and implement new marketing strategies to boost Wedding Party’s own marketing efforts

In general, you’ll be hands-on and knees-deep in the wonderful online world of weddings & marketing. Doesn’t that sound great?

ABOUT YOU

We need an intern who’s like all the Avengers in one person! Basically, you should:

Be a college student or recent graduate (Preferably with an emphasis on marketing)
Have previous experience marketing through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
Be willing to think creatively and outside the box
Want to get your hands dirty in the world of marketing and are enthusiastic about learning as much as you possibly can
Be great at collaborating with others, but also motivated enough to find projects and solve problems without help.

In terms of job-specific qualities, you...

Are a master at the English language, and can craft the best 140-character tweet the online wedding world has ever seen.
Are a little picky about what you Pin to your Pinterest boards. (Don’t worry, that’s a good thing.)
Know what makes people tick on Facebook - or at least, you want to learn!
Have strong writing skills and an approachable, unique voice. Ideally, you’ve written for a school newspaper or have your own blog.
Ideally have experience with Wordpress, Photoshop, Analytics tools (ideal)
Ideally have managed projects before, and know how to plan, execute, and analyze the results of a successful project. Or, you at least know why your projects have failed, and can learn from your mistakes.

We also really hope you’ll fit in with our team, which means you should be kind of weird (in a good way), and super enthusiastic about your work day in and day out.
