POSITION OVERVIEW

As Senior Network Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for installing and supporting the LAN, WAN, and global network for client's World Wide Studios. You will directly support other IT teams in the engineering, integration, and operation of numerous services. The work you perform will benefit developers, supporting groups, and the customers we value so highly.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Overall, the position of Senior Network Engineer is expected to partner with the organization to:

 

  1. Install, maintain, and support network routers, switches, and other communications devices used by World Wide Studios (WWS), including LAN, WLAN, WAN, firewall, VPN and Internet infrastructure for the use of development staff and online game services.
  2. Assist with the planning and design of new network topologies and the deployment of new equipment to create highly reliable 24x7x365 production networks for Internet, LAN, WLAN, WAN, and QA verifications purposes.
  3. Monitor network performance and conduct in-depth network performance testing at an intermediate level.
  4. Create ongoing documentation as it relates to configuration, troubleshooting, network diagrams, and infrastructure topology.
  5. Provide rotating 24x7 on-call support to ensure fast resolution to network issues/outages.
  6. Support the company on issues concerning networking, in the development of applications utilizing those networks, on large scope IT-related projects, and in collaboration with other IT teams.
  7. Work closely with the Information Security group to protect all equipment and proactively monitor network security.
  8. Advise and recommend the purchase of new network equipment whenever appropriate while considering alternative solutions or vendors for thoroughness.
  9. Assist in being primary/secondary point of contact for a multi-homed AS with multiple ISP and telecommunications vendors.
  10. Assist in the design and implementation of cable installations and site wiring/planning for internal or external expansion projects.
  11. Provide tutoring/fostering of junior staff members as needed or appropriate.
  12. Travel occasionally as needed to support remote offices and server collocation facilities.
  13. Perform other duties deemed appropriate by management.
